Who do you want to become? What level of success do you want to achieve? What type of person do you want to be? How do you want people to view you?
Growing up we all have that hero figure that we want to be just like. Whether our parents, grandparents, teachers, coaches… whoever it may be. We are all inspired by someone that makes us want to become better individuals. In our work field we all know that one individual that has the amount of success that we would want to have, or someone that has such an amazing fulfilled life that some might dream of having.
You might ask yourself, what type of hero do you want to become like, and how do you become that person?
It’s very simple, matter of fact you won’t believe it. In order to become the person, we want to be, we must start acting like that person. A group of psychologists corrected said” When ONE is truly ready for a thing, it puts in its APPEARANCE”. When you start acting like the person you want to be, your mind and the universe starts working in interesting ways. You start thinking like that person, acting like that person, believing like that person, simply put…. your mind starts to change. Then once you start acting like this person, you start to become like this person. The universe or God, whoever you believe in, starts to send good things toward your way. It sees that you are ready to be that person.
Use a Person’s Name
Let’s face it — we’re all huge narcissists and we all love the sound of our own name. Learn names and make use of them. Always use an individual’s name in a conversation. A classic from Dale Carnegie’s famous book How to Win Friends and Influence People, this tried-and-true technique is sure to increase your fan base.
Smile — With Feeling!
Although we live in a digital age that increasingly substitutes technology for human interaction, we are still at our cores very social creatures. As humans, we use social interaction as a tool for feedback, and we make a lot of conscious and subconscious choices based on how others engage with and respond to us.
When someone offers a huge grin brimming with authenticity, happiness rubs off on its receivers. There have been many studies showing how mood, whether positive or negative, spreads between individuals. If your positive attitude brightens someone else’s day, that person will love you for it.
Focus on your strengths
Your negative traits are not who you are. Replace negative self-talk with positive thoughts that empower you to be yourself. When you focus on your strengths, you build yourself up instead of tear yourself down. Not sure what your strengths are? Think of the times in your life when you’ve felt the most “in your element.” You felt that way because you were finally discovering how to start being yourself.
Stop living in the past
Your past does not equal your future. Everyone has made mistakes. They don’t have to define who you are, and you don’t need to spend your life atoning for them. Learn how to let go of guilt and stop living in the past. Your life can be anything you want it to be – so make it extraordinary.
